This project started 11 years ago.. I have always been interested in soca music and enjoy the atmosphere that surrounds the music and the people who are associated with it. .  The soca weekender came to mind because at the time, there were not many events which supported that type of music. Being brought up with soca music being played continuously, I thought it a good idea at the time to organise a weekend away playing predominantly soca music!! .I wanted to start something which would interest like minded people and friends who would come along and enjoy the music, people and at the same time have fun!!  In the process of organising such events, I have met some really genuine people who some, to this day, I regard as close friends and through all the stress which goes hand in hand with such events, I must say that I am indebted to those people who have supported us year after year..... 2003 was supposed to have been the "final fling" and the end to the weekenders but from the feed back of our questionnaires, members have proved to us that we cannot stop yet - we have decided to continue for another year or two!!
